Bathroom installers in Reading who handle every part of the project

A full bathroom installation is one of the most involved projects any home takes on. It touches plumbing, electrics, structural preparation, waterproofing, tiling, joinery, ventilation and decorating — often all in a room the size of a small office. When those trades are handled by separate contractors, the details fall between the gaps: a badly falling shower tray, an extractor that never quite clears the mirror, tiles that don't line up around the vanity unit.

We handle every one of those trades ourselves. One team, one point of contact, one written quote covering the whole job. Over 10 years in business is what makes that possible — our installations across Reading, Caversham, Tilehurst, Earley, Woodley and Twyford are calm to live through and hold up years later.

If you're still working out the layout, our bathroom design service comes as part of every full installation. If the room only needs modernising rather than starting again, a bathroom renovation may be the better fit.

Plumbing, pipework and water pressure

Every good bathroom hides its most important work behind the walls. We re-run first-fix pipework in copper or high-quality plastic, secure everything against expansion noise, fit isolation valves on every appliance and set waste pipes with a correct fall so drainage stays quiet and reliable.

Where existing water pressure isn't up to a modern rainfall shower or dual-outlet thermostatic valve, we flag it during the survey and specify an appropriate upgrade — a mains booster, an unvented cylinder or a re-routed cold feed — rather than fit something that will never perform properly. Moving the WC, basin, bath or shower to a better position is routine work for us; we'll simply confirm the drainage runs stack up before we quote.

Bathroom electrics, extraction and lighting

Bathrooms have their own zoning rules under Part P of the building regulations, and everything we install is certified to comply. That covers the shower isolator, IP-rated downlights, LED mirrors, illuminated niches, underfloor heating thermostats and shaver sockets. Wiring runs are planned around where furniture will land so nothing sits in awkward view.

A quiet, correctly ducted extractor fan is one of the most important components in any bathroom. We size units to the room, duct them to the outside (never into the loft) and, where possible, wire humidistat control so extraction runs when the room actually needs it rather than only with the light.

Waterproofing, tiling and finishing

Every wet zone — shower enclosure, wet room floor, splash areas — is fully tanked with a bonded waterproof membrane before a single tile goes down. Movement joints are placed correctly, silicone lines are set with masking so they finish crisply, and natural stone is sealed.

Porcelain and ceramic tiles behave differently and we choose adhesives and cutting techniques to match. Large-format porcelain in particular needs careful back-buttering and levelling systems to avoid lippage. There's more detail on our approach on the bathroom tiling page.

Small bathrooms, ensuites, shower rooms and family bathrooms

Not every installation is a large master suite. A good share of our work in Reading is small bathroom installation — compact family bathrooms, ensuite installation in a converted loft or spare bedroom, and shower room installation where a bath is no longer earning its space. Small rooms are often the ones that benefit most from a proper plan, because every centimetre has to work.

Typical small-room wins include swapping a full-size bath for a walk-in shower installation with a slim-profile tray, moving to a wall-hung WC with a concealed cistern to gain floor space, and using a single large-format tile format to stop the room looking busy. For a first-floor or loft ensuite, a fully tanked wet room often makes the space feel considerably larger.

Bathroom installation costs in Reading

Bathroom installation cost in Reading, Berkshire depends far more on the specifics than on any headline figure. The main factors are the size of the room, the condition of what's already there, whether the layout changes, how much plumbing alteration is involved, the sanitaryware and brassware you choose, the tiles and flooring, whether you want a bath or a walk-in shower, the amount of electrical work, and the level of finishing — underfloor heating, bespoke joinery, feature tiling and so on.

A straightforward like-for-like bathroom installation typically takes 10 to 14 working days on site. Layout changes, wet rooms, feature-wall tiling or bespoke joinery can extend that to three or four weeks. We provide a day-by-day programme with the quote so you know exactly what to expect.

Rather than quote a number that means nothing without seeing the room, we'll visit, measure, listen to what you want and produce a fully itemised written quote free of charge. We can supply everything through our trade suppliers or fit sanitaryware you've bought yourself — either way we'll say honestly if we don't think something is a good long-term choice before it's ordered.

We're really pleased with the finished bathroom. Everything was organised well from the first visit, the dates didn't slip once and the standard of the tiling and finishing is excellent. It also helped that they'd clearly done this hundreds of times before — nothing seemed to faze them.

Our bathroom was very cramped and we honestly weren't sure what layout would work. The suggestions we got made a huge difference — we've ended up with a proper walk-in shower and twin basins, and the room feels twice the size. Tidy, polite and finished on time.

We were nervous about putting a wet room on the first floor, but the tanking and drainage were explained to us in plain English before anything started. Completely watertight, beautifully tiled and worth every penny.

Quote was itemised properly and the final invoice matched it exactly. Finished a day early with only two snags, both sorted the same week.

Genuinely helpful advice about where the money was worth spending and where it wasn't, which we appreciated. The floor tiling is dead level, the underfloor heating is a revelation and the kids love the new bath. Booking them again for the ensuite next year.

We wanted a bathroom that would still work for us in ten years without looking clinical. They designed a level-access shower with discreet supports built in, and it's now the calmest room in the house. Clear communication throughout and very respectful of our home.
